Home Workout Equipment

Not all of us  wants to pay the monthly gym membership to workout.  If your like me, you don't always have time to travel to the gym everday, so it's convenient to workout from the comfort of your own home.

All your really need is the minimal amount of equipment such as dumbbells, barbells, squat rack, an adjustable bench and cardio equipment depending on how much space you have, and what your goals and budget are. Some people like to workout in their garage or in a spare room in their home.

Here is my list of essential equipment

The dumbbell is the most versatile training tool and most guys train with up to 100 lbs.

Dumbbells are great for exercising every single body part and they are easy to store away so you don't trip over them.

You can buy at a cheap price from ebay, craigslist or gum tree if you shop around.

But if you want to buy then new then Amazon is a good choice as they come in all sizes and shapes such as the Bowflex SelectTech 552, which is a very popular choice.

Barbells and Weight Plates

You can buy a standard olympic barbell at stores that sell fitness equipment. You can even buy used barbells and plates for a fraction of the price on sites like Gumtree or eBay. It's really not that hard to find one at an affordable price is you shop around. Amazon offers many options for weight plates and barbells.

Adjustable Bench

An adjustable bench is best if you have enough space for it. A flat bench is okay, but not okay when you want to do exercises such as incline dumbbell press. That's why I think these are a better choice especially when you wan to do both incline and decline exercises. Again you can find one on Gumtree, Craiglist or Amazon for a decent price.

Squat Rack

It's not a good idea to do squats with heavy weight unless you have a squat rack. Having a squat rack will act as the foundation for all the barbell exercises you do. There are also many many other great advantages is that you can also do a bunch of other exercises on a squat rack such as pull-ups, flat, decline and incline bench press and even deadlifts. So if you got extra space in your home then it's a good idea to invest a little money on a solid squat rack.

Pull-Up Bar

A pull-up bar comes in very handy when you want to do exercises such as pull-ups, chin-ups and hanging leg raises. They are an essential piece of equipment for upper body exercises.
